Life’s Great Spiritual Events

Christianity is like an exciting adventure with God as we discover who God is, the purpose of our lives and the hope of heaven, eternal life and the joyful reunion with our loved ones to come in the future. Encountering God through the Holy Sacraments of Holy Baptism, Confirmation, the Holy Eucharist and Holy Matrimony help us to draw closer in our relationship to God through Jesus Christ and to know that God loves us, that God is always with us, even through death. A sacrament is an outward sign of an inward and spiritual grace ordained by Christ himself.

If you are thinking of getting baptised, or, would like to get confirmed, or, to come for Confession, please do get in contact with Rev’d Lisa . Baptisms

Baptism, or, being Christened is like a spiritual rebirth where we are baptised with holy water poured upon our foreheads and baptised in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. At baptism, we are welcomed into the Christian faith and where we begin our lifelong adventure with God through water and promises. It marks the start of a new life in Jesus Christ. Baptism is a celebration, a welcome by the church family and a very joyful event.

Weddings

Many congratulations on your engagement! As you start to think about getting married in a church, your wedding will be one of your life’s most important beautiful moments. It is a time where you will make solemn vows to each other in front of God and all your family and friends and receive God’s blessing. For Christians, marriage is a wonderful invitation to share your lives together in the spirit of Jesus Christ. The foundation of marriage is where you as a bride and groom will make a public and life-long covenant between you as husband and wife, which will be declared and joyfully celebrated in the presence of God and witnessedby your family and friends. So let us at St Paul’s Church help you to create the perfect day for your wedding.

Funerals

Losing a loved one is surely one of life’s most painful moments. If there is someone you know, who has died, I am here to listen, to pray with you and to guide and help you every step of the way.

Planning a funeral for your loved one whether as a Service in the church, a Burial in the Churchyard, or a Cremation Service, enables you to give thanks for their life as well as helps you to grieve and mourn.

Christians believe in eternal life in heaven and that when we die, God will honour His promise through Jesus’ death and resurrection, in that we will be reunited with God and our loved ones in the peace of heaven where there is no pain, or, suffering. This belief is central to the Christian faith and hope of which I pray, will bring you some hope and comfort as you journey through your passage of grief and sorrow.
